Davidstow Moor

A former World War 2 airfield situated near Camelford in North Cornwall. Now the home of the Moorland Flying Club Davidstow Moor is 970 ft above Sea Level.Tha main concrete Runway 12/30 still exists as do sections of 02/20 and06/24.The south West half of the field has been planted with conifer trees and a public road crosses the field and the North Western end of Runway 12/30 where a warning sign indicates to motorists that the runway is in use! Pooleys flight guide advises flyers to beware of tourists & livestock on the Runways.

The Scenery & Installation.

Designed with Just Flight & Get Mapping VFR Scenery and the supplied terrain mesh in mind the scenery has been created using photo's of the remaining buildings on the airfield to create the textures. The nearby Crowdy Reservoir has been made landable for floatplanes and the conifer forest has been created using Gerrish Grey's trees_v31 which you will need to download seperately from avsim or any of the other popular flightsim sites.

To install the scenery unzip the file into a temporary folder and place the contents of the scenry folder into ADDON SCENERY/SCENERY within Fs 2k2. The contents of the texture folder can be placed in the Texture folder within addon scenery or in the main texture folder for FS 2k2. I recomend placing the textures in the main texture folder as having duplicates of textures in different folders can slow Flightsim down.If the four bgl files from the scenery folder are placed into the SCENERY folder of Addon Scenery then no further action is needed to use the scenery. If they are placed anywhere else the scenery will have to be activated using the scenery database in Flightsim. The scenery has been created with an exclude switch so if any other versions of Davidstow are installed it should not conflict if given priority in the scenery database list.
